In simple terms the procedure for the use of Publidisa's eBook creation and sale services is as follows:
Given the characteristics of the creation and marketing of eBooks, (direct conversion or creation of eBooks from content provided by the editor and the electronic sale of the publication via Internet while authorised), it is necessary to sign a contract which includes the acquired responsabilities of both parties; this is called a SERVICES CONTRACT and it contains: A definition
of the services provided by Publidisa
and what is required of the publisher. The services contract is essential for any work done with Publidisa. TopFrom Publidisa's exclusive site, publishers may obtain an online quote for the conversion of a publication into an eBook. Each quote represents a specific product and once confirmed by Publidisa , becomes a firm quote which after being accepted by the publisher will be produced under the requested conditions. For any publisher to get an online eBook conversion quote IT IS VITAL THAT they first ensure that they have or can have available a copy of the publication in digital format. They must also indicate the number of pages, format and number of images, graphics and/or illustrations the publication contains. However, the quote will not be valid until Publidisa receives the digital copy at their premises and confirms that the details which appear in the quote correspond with the publication itself. Any publication which does not comply with the aforementioned standards will need to be submitted independently, we cannot guarantee our services for all publications outside our standards. Once the aforementioned quote is provided by Publidisa and accepted by THE CLIENT it becomes a firm order and a production order. Top
Once the quote is drawn up and accepted by both parties the sending of the publication can take place. Publidisa must receive both a digital and paper copy of the publication if they are available. The digital copy should be in a common storage support ( zip, CD-Rom, Optico) The paper version is used to check that the original content corresponds with the new eBook prodcution. In cases where there is no printed copy of the publication, due to the fact that this will be the first edition, the publisher must send a test print copy of the whole book. Publidisa
will cover the cost of collection of the originals within the Spanish
mainland and will check them against the submitted quote.
Once the conversion to eBook has been completed the publisher can go to the exlcusive pages for publishers on Publidisa's publisher site and download up to 5 copies of the publication to check quality and level of protection. As soon as authorisation is given, the publication will be included in Publidisa's electronic sales service and will then be able to be linked to other electronic services arranged by the publisher. If the CLIENT is not satisfied with the production, they may request that adjustments be made without incurring additional costs, this only applies to adjustments which do not deviate from the original file submitted by the CLIENT. If the protection and quality requirements are not met in the eBook conversion the CLIENT may drop the production order and as a result, will not incur any costs for this service. Top
The time taken to complete a conversion to eBook varies depending on the complexity of the content included. However if the publications meet the standard characteristics, the conversion time and inclusion on the Internet will be 7 working days from the publisher accepting the quote. Publidisa contracts specific communication services which are guaranteed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Therefore Publidisa is not responsible for exceptional circumstances where a book may not be downloaded. Publidisa also informs publishers that when they give authorisation for the electronic marketing of their titles, after having checked our corresponding protection system, the titles are then their responsibility and under their control and Publidisa will not take responsibility for any breech of security made by a third party. However Publidisa will take any legal action necessary jointly with the publisher, against anyone who manipulates the protection of the eBooks which it has created. Top
