• What is an eBook?
An eBook is a digital production which has been created to be marketed on the Internet. Therefore the size, structure and design have had to be correctly modified to ensure correct visualisation, transmission time/download time and user possibilities.

• Is Publidisa an e-publisher?
No, Publisida is a company which offers services to the publishing industry. Publidisa offers publishers creation, conversion and Internet marketing services for their eBooks. On no account does Publidisa act as a publisher for books in paper or electronic format.

• Can I print or copy an eBook?
Yes, but only with the permission of the publisher. In each eBook's information file you can find out the rights or permissions which have been assigned to each book: Printing, limited printing, limited copying,...

• Is it easy to read an eBook?
eBooks are read from the screen of a computer, be it a Mackintosh personal computer, a PC or a laptop. The pages appear on the screen in the same way as they do in a book, and using the page navigator incorporated in the Adobe Digital Editions and Adobe Reader 6 or 7 you can turn the pages one by one or select any page you wish. Adobe Digital Editions and Adobe Reader 6 or 7 and its tools, are very easy to use, as you can see from the information we offer you about this programme. • What prerequisites are required to download an eBook?
To download an eBook you need a PC pentium 200 or Makintosh desktop or laptop with at least 6Mb of free memory space on the hard disk. You also need to install Adobe free software: Adobe Digital Editions or Adobe Reader 6 or 7.

• How long does it take to download an eBook?
The download of an eBook depends on the data connection which you have availbale. For a 2000Kb eBook with a 56k modem, approximate download time is 6 minutes and through an ISDN line 1.5 minutes.

We offer the service of creation and encryption of files contatining your work and the possibility of making them available on the internet from our website TodoeBook www.todoebook.com.
The encryption system is such that files can only be opened from your computer's hard disc or from the support where the downloaded took place. The files are in PDF format and if they are downloaded onto the hard disc of your PC or portable computer you will have the necessary reader support.

• How can a publisher convert their publications to eBooks and/or market them with Publidisa?
Given the characteristics of the creation and sale of eBooks service, (conversion or direct creation of eBooks from the content provided by the publisher, and the sale of the publication via the Internet during its validity) the publisher must sign a contract which details what is required of both parties. • If I consent to the production and marketing of an eBook, must my customers have Adobe Digital Editions or Adobe Reader 6 or 7?
In effect, yes. Adobe Digital Editions and Adobe Reader 6 and 7 is software from Adobe, which allows the encryption of publications guaranteeing legal broadcasting of the book and protection of publisher and author rights.

The publisher is the owner of the title and the content of the eBook.

Who is responsible for the payment of the authors?
The payment of royalties to authors is the responsibility of the publisher. Publidisa offers services to the publishing industry and not directly to authors, therefore it is the publisher who must come to an agreement with their authors over this matter.

Who is responsible for the rights and permissions of the eBook user?
The publisher establishes the rights and permissions that the user has in relation to the eBook.

How long will my eBook remain on my computer if it is not downloaded?
When you buy an eBook you have one month to download it, after this period of time it will be automatically disabled.

• Does the Adobe Reader run with Linux?
Yes, Adobe Reader 7 runs.

Can I make backup files of my eBooks?
Yes if you are using Adobe Reader 6 or 7. You can make backup files selecting the Backup option from "My Bookshelf" window specially when you are going to uninstall Adobe Reader, update your operating system or format your hard disk.

Why do I get a certification error after having installed the Adobe Reader?
When you install the Adobe Reader for the first time you must certify the product, this is only necessary once. If your computer is networked and you have a Firewall/Proxy server, you may have difficulties when certifying products due to a bad configuration in your Internet Explorer or due to restricted access in the configuration of you Firewall/Proxy server. Consult you network administrator if your are unsure about you network configuration.

What should I do if the error, "cannot open EBX transfer file" appears when I try to open the EBX transfer file?
YYou must certify the Adobe Reader. If you do not certify it you will be able to download *.etd files which allow the Adobe Reader to download books, but not the actual books. In this case please contact our technical team

• Can I use a different Adobe software?
No, you can't. To read encrypted eBooks you must install Adobe Digital Editions, Adobe Reader 6 or Adobe Reader 7. Neither Adobe Reader 8, Adobe Acrobat eBook Reader 4.05, 5.05 or 5.1 works with encrypted PDFs, so it is absolutly neccesary to install exclusively Adobe Digital Editions, Adobe Reader 6 or Adobe Reader 7.
